Active, imaginative play is the key to unlocking a child’s natural creativity, curiosity, confidence and joy, which will help them grow into compassionate and insightful lifelong learners.

Coming soon to Downtown San Leandro!

What

A beautiful, fun and inspiring indoor play space for kids and toddlers! Imaginative play, building, science, art, slides, tunnels, and soft areas for crawlers. Open for drop-in play throughout the day, Juniper Corner will be the perfect place for kids and toddlers to play with each other and their caregivers! The space will also be available for private party bookings on the weekends.

Once Juniper Corner is up and running, we intend to host some light regular programming, such as weekly storytimes or parent affinity groups, which would all be open to drop-in participants.

When

We plan to open in a permanent space in 2025. Until then, join us for FREE pop-up events for kids and families around San Leandro throughout 2024!

How

The startup and ongoing operating costs will be funded through a combination of private philanthropy, grants, partnerships with local businesses and program revenues. Admission for drop-in play will be pay-what-you-can, with a suggested donation of $10 per child each visit.

Juniper Corner is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so all contributions are fully tax-deductible. You can donate via PayPal, Venmo, cash or check. If you’d like to donate supplies, get involved as a volunteer, or have any questions, please email eve@junipercorner.org.

Why Juniper Corner?

Juniper is a resilient, adaptable plant that is native to Northern California. It has grown on this land for centuries, both wild and cultivated, and continues to thrive as a part of San Leandro’s urban ecology today.

Corner captures the cozy, little kid scale of the space, like a corner reading nook or a secret clubhouse. Corner also references a place where the community comes together, like a corner store or a neighborhood cafe.
